On Going GB Scope Agriculture

Under the Chief Minister’s vision of a prosperous, self-reliant Gilgit-Baltistan where women and youth are active partners in economic development, the Women Groups Apiculture Promotion Programme promotes beekeeping as a low-cost, home-based source of sustainable income. Women groups of at least three members from all districts will receive honey bee colonies, beekeeping equipment, and a mandatory three-day training under a cost-sharing arrangement with a 20% beneficiary share. By creating self-employment opportunities close to home, the programme supports poverty reduction, strengthens women’s role in the local economy, and makes productive use of the region’s orchards and flowering plants. Through cluster formation and group marketing, it also aims to improve honey quality and market access, so that Gilgit-Baltistan’s honey becomes a recognized local product.

Applicant must be a Bonafide resident of Gilgit-Baltistan with a valid CNIC. Scheme-specific eligibility applies.
